About Laguna Beach

This city was established as an art commune in the early 20th century and now is home to over 100 galleries and the world-renowned Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters. Active Culture was born here in November 2010, in a spanish-style building across from Anita Street Beach on the famous Pacific Coast Highway. We embraced the inextricable relationship between art and Laguna Beach by partnering with the Festival of Arts and featuring a gallery within our building which showcases a different brilliant artist each season. Come see the current exhibit!

Take in the gorgeous ocean view while dining on our front patio (there is a particularly beautiful sunset vista during Autumn months). Our close proximity to the beach makes acai bowls, shakes, smoothies, and frozen yogurt especially popular at this location, along with, of course, our famous Wholesome Bowl!

We cherish our local Laguna Beach community and are forever grateful for their support over the years. It has been amazing getting to know our many regulars, and in lots of cases, watch their children grow up. We also appreciate that so many of the 6 million annual visitors to Laguna Beach make a point to come see us year after year. It is so wonderful to see their familiar faces come through our doors and hear how Active Culture is an absolute essential stop during their vacations.

We are proud to have renewed our Green Business certification from the City of Laguna Beach in 2023.

“One of my favorite places in laguna! The food is fantastic and allergen-safe, the service is great, and it’s a great place for getting nutritious food to-go or to eat in the restaurant. One of my favorite study spots and I so so recommend the Eastern Trade Winds bowl!”
